WHITMIRE — Despite the St. Joseph’s Knights reign on the Whitmire Wolverines Friday night, the Wolverines didn’t give up as they scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Knights defeated the Wolverines, 54-8, and the Wolverines call to 0-8 on the season.

Sophomore West Jenkins scored the touchdown while senior Cole Whitmire scored a two-point conversion.

During halftime, the youth midgets and mites football teams were honored as they ran out onto the field while their names were called.

The young cheerleaders who participated in the cheer clinic with the Whitmire Community cheerleaders also performed a few routines during halftime. There were about 66 girls who participated.

Whitmire travels to Southside Christian on Friday where they will also recognize their seniors.
