Wolves race at Royal Cross Country match
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Newberry men’s cross country team ran to a 19th place finish, while the women finished 26th in the non-Division I field of the Royal Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park.
Junior Nathan Collier finished 58th in the field of 222 runners with a time of 27:21. Also, junior Austin Sorensen at 88th place with a time of 28:06. Sophomore Peter Hackett placed 92nd at 28:11, freshman Conner Roudabush was 160th at 30:30, junior B.J. Young finished 179th at 31:21, freshman Christian Lawyer was 217th at 37:23 and freshman Taylor Manning finished 221st at 38:13.
Junior Rebecca Eddy was the top finisher in the Newberry contingent. Eddy finished 162nd with a time of 22:18 against a field of 240 non-Division I runners. Junior Kelley Strong finished 167th at 22:29, senior Romina Adum was 176th at 22:47, freshman Makaylyn Higgins was 187th at 23:15 and sophomore Diana Terrell finished 205th at 24:05.
