SUNSET BEACH, N.C. — Newberry College tied for 14th place at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, turning in a 36-hole total score of 304-305=609 (+33) in the Wolves’ third tournament of the fall season.
Newberry was in a tightly packed tier of teams, tying with South Atlantic Conference rival Anderson and finishing only four strokes from 11th place. The Wolves improved four spots in the final standings after sitting in 17th place following the first 18 holes.
The Wolves were led by Ryan Wilkinson, who shot a 4-over par 148 to tie for 27th place in the event.
Tommy Hurst tied for 39th place with a 6-over par 150 and Ewen Donaldson tied for 57th place with a 9-over par 153. Rounding out the Newberry contingent were John Paul Ferguson in a tie for 79th place with a 14-over par 158 and Dixon Walker in 97th place with a 26-over par 170.
After two weeks off, the Wolves will wrap up their fall schedule with the Rock Barn Collegiate Invitational in Conover, N.C., on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29.
