On Wednesday, August 13 I accidentally ran over my puppy, Tweety. While I looked at her whimper in pain, I could not help but blame myself because I knew there was no possible way I could get her proper medical attention due to my financial situation. However, I decided to go to the veterinarian hoping they would have a payment plan.
When I arrived at Newberry Animal Hospital, they advised me there was a fee to be paid before she could be seen. I had less than $20 in my pocket. In the midst of tears, a lady who was in the office came up to me and asked me what had happened and also asked if I had the money. I told her I did not and that I had basically been financially insecure since losing my job in February. The lady’s name was Alicia.
By the grace of God, she offered me the office fee, which I refused to take, but she would not take no for an answer. Thanks to Alicia, whom is employed at the Grille on Main in Newberry, Tweety was treated for a pelvic fracture. Another special thanks to the Humane Society for providing funds for Tweety’s x-ray and other treatment.
Alicia, I know you were placed in the Newberry Animal Hospital on Wednesday by God. You are a guardian angel and even though I do not know you, I love you!
