Can you believe we are almost to the end of 2013? I find it interesting that as each of us gains additional experience in life, the majority will use that information to become better citizens.
Here at your Chamber, we had a remarkable year simply because we were privileged to meet so many wonderful, interesting visitors.
Have you ever considered what it is like here at your Chamber when visitors walk through our door?
We have become accustomed to the fact that every visitor has something to offer. Some are very chatty from the beginning, while others might require questions from us. However, in the end, our friendliness wins them over and we form many great relationships. So, we are especially thankful for our visitors.
As our country continues to struggle with a slow economy, here in Newberry, the number of empty stores has dwindled, which has not gone unnoticed by our visitors. Our guests are spending money which allows businesses to reinvest, offering additional items on their shelves, in turn offering more choices for customers. So, we are especially thankful for our local businesses.
We simply cannot overlook the other businesses whose products are responsible for bringing so many guests to our county; our world acclaimed Newberry Opera House, Carter and Holmes Orchids farm, Enoree River Winery, Newberry College and Piedmont Technical College, our local hotels, as well as some of the best restaurants in the state. We simply could not be what we are without you, so we are also very thankful for our major attractions.
Here at your Chamber, we must tell you, if it were not for your continued financial support, information about the above attractions would not be readily available. It is because of you that we are able to keep the doors to the visitors center open. It is because you choose to be a part of the Chamber’s member supporting members idea that helps keep local stores open. It is also because you choose to support our local establishments that Newberry is growing during challenging moments in history.
So, as we blast into 2014, please know how deeply we appreciate you and the high level of support you bring to this Chamber. If we are not living up to your expectations, please let us know. We value your input. It is our desire to continuously improve and we simply cannot do this without you.
So, from Liz, Michelle, and me, we wish you the merriest Christmas holiday and a wonderfully, prosperous 2014. For you we are extremely thankful!
