The year is quickly coming to a close. The final month of 2013 is here. Parties and plays, plans and presents — oh yes, many presents.

Some we buy, some are more precious — the gift of a hug and of time spent together. It’s been a great year here at One2One Christian Church in beautiful Newberry. We don’t hit the door running when the sermon’s over on Sunday. We sit together at tables in the kitchen and drink coffee, eat cookies, watch the children run wild throughout the building and we share with one another. Time, burdens, blessings, hopes and fears are all shared.

I’ve enjoyed all those Sundays after church spent with our church family. We’ve had three Lock-ins (overnight sleepovers) with the children this year and they’re already wanting to know when we’ll do it again (February/March). Resurrection Sunday was a great Sunday; the barbecue in May was a big success; Kidfest (VBS) in June was a blast. The kids have been working on their Christmas play since August and have been sharing their memory verses with us all year long. We’ve had three Memorization Sundays so far this year, with the children sharing their memory work and with us finishing the memorization of Matthew chapters 24-28.

On Christmas Eve we plan to share our memory work from the Christmas Story told in chapters one and two of Matthew (minus the begats and begots). The New Year will be here soon and I look forward to another year of blessings as we work for the Kingdom of God and love one another.

Merry Christmas and may God bless you and yours.
