Follow your passion, find your place in life
Every day, millions of people throughout America get up and go to work, seemingly as robots. Most will tell you they have traveled the same route every day for years to the same old job and do the same things every day. Many will tell you they feel trapped and unhappy. My question is “Why?”
God created this beautiful world, saw a need, created us, and said, “Be fruitful and multiply.” I believe He expected us to thoroughly enjoy and protect the beauty of the world He created.
So, why do so many of us fall into the daily routine, hating every minute of the working day? Yes, there may be circumstances or barriers that seem insurmountable, but if you are persistent and refuse to accept failure, you can overcome almost anything.
Everyone I have had the privilege of meeting during my many years on this earth have all had some type of talent, and many of them failed to follow that passion, which seemed to have led to unhappiness. We can all get caught up in what society wants and expects of us, which can often lead us to doing something we actually dislike.
If you are one of those people, here is the bold truth: It is not too late. You can affect change. One word of caution, change is not easy, generally speaking. You will probably encounter many roadblocks. However, if you refuse to lose and follow your passion, you will find that at the end of the day, you will lay down to sleep feeling that you have finally found your place in life.
You will also eagerly awaken every day with a sense of pride and excitement. Sound like Utopia? Well, only you can decide if you are following, or have followed, your passion.
Personally, I would not like to look back on my life and realize I had not followed my passions. So, what can you do? I suggest that after making a personal inspection of your passions, you determine your future. At the end of the day, it is you that must make the decisions that best benefit you.
Here at your chamber, we know we have passion. Why? Well, we recognize that we have a great responsibility, not only to our members, but to everyone opting to visit Newberry County, and we take that responsibility seriously. We love what we do and would consider it a privilege to tell you of the growing number of benefits our members are offered.
By the way, the cost of chamber membership is one of the best values in Newberry County. Why not stop by, or call 276-4274, and let either Liz, Michelle or me tell you why you should become a supporting member? Who knows, we just may help you discover your passion.
