PROSPERITY — William Cecil Harmon, 75, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Providence Hospital.
Born on July 17, 1938, in Joanna, he was a son of the late James Cecil and Ruth Grogan Harmon. He was employed with Whitten Center for many years and later worked for Champion International and Louis Rich as a security officer. He was a member of Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church and the Prosperity Masonic Lodge # 115. Mr. Harmon was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Wilson Harmon; daughters, Kay (Ronnie) Porter of Prosperity and Donna (Jay) Porter of Newberry; brothers, Wayne (Pauline) Harmon of Prosperity and Jimmie (Sheila) Harmon of Newberry; a grandson, R. W. “Will” Porter. He was predeceased by a sister, Vera Mae “Sissy” Harmon.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
