NEWBERRY — Ashley Ponder was recently announced as the 2013 Mary Sue Livingston 911 Telecommunicator of the Year recipient.
“Mary Sue was a dedicated and valued employee of this agency that taken from us far too early,” Sheriff Lee Foster stated.
The Mary Sue Livingston 911 Telecommunicator of the Year is awarded to an employee who has shown dedication, loyalty, and leadership above and beyond the call of duty. Livingston worked as a 911-Telecommunicator Supervisor in the Communications Division of the Sheriff’s Office.
This individual must epitomize the image of a 911 Telecommunicator and must also maintain the standards of the office. The individual considered for this award had to have possessed the quality and quantity of work contributed by an individual that exemplifies commitment and dedication. Ponder exemplifies just those qualities.
An employee of the Newberry County Sheriff’s, Ponder came to work with the agency in 2004 in the Communications Division as a 911 Telecommunicator (Dispatcher). Since that time, she has excelled and become a leader with her shift and in the division.
Because of this work ethic and commitment, she was also promoted to Shift Leader where she has oversight of the unit’s personnel during her shift.
“Ashley is a great employee who does a great job, and is a valuable part of our organization. Her quality of work is only surpassed by her smile, sense of humor, and great attitude,” Foster said.
