The City of Newberry Police Department reported the following incidents:
— Cassandra Stover, 34, of 6620 Two Notch Road in Columbia, Jennifer Larsen, 29, of 812 Rollingwood Trail, and Michael Richardson, 66, of 5 Hickory Hall Court in Irmo, were charged with a shoplifting incident that occurred Aug. 16 at Walmart in Newberry. Officers stopped their car and found a pair of tennis shoes, two bibles, five $50 VISA gift cards, five $25 VISA gift cards, two $100 Mastercard gift cards, one $50 Mastercard gift card, and a cloth tote bag containing a variety of school supplies. Stover, Larsen and Richardson were charged with shoplifting and criminal conspiracy. Officers found Larsen was on trespass notice to all Walmart properties. Stover and Richardson were also served with no trespass notices.
— Officers responded to 901 Boundary St. on Aug. 19 in reference to a fight in progress, but arrived to find no one fighting. About 35 minutes later, Lt. Todd Johnson with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a woman for an unrelated matter and she reported a strong arm robbery had occurred in front of the yard of the home. The woman said she was approached on her way to a convenience store on Nance Street when a man knocked her down and took her purse. She said the wallet had $96 in cash and her South Carolina ID in it. The complainant told officers she wanted to press charges.
