COLUMBIA — The Salvation Army of the Midlands provides Christmas presents for children in need across the Midlands of South Carolina. As many are aware, the past few years have been tough on families and there is still a need for assistance to be great. Help is needed to “do the most good” this Christmas season.

The Salvation Army of the Midlands’ Christmas Warehouse provides Christmas presents each year to families who have demonstrated the need for assistance. These children are represented by angels with their Christmas wishes and clothing sizes available as gift ideas and suggestions.

The goal is to serve each child with three gifts and a Christmas stocking. They are reaching out to individuals, families, church groups, civic groups, businesses, etc. to include providing for those less fortunate in your holiday festivities. Anyone can adopt angels at Columbia Place Mall or Columbiana Centre between now and Dec. 8. The angel trees are staffed and ready to assist you in picking your angels and collecting donations.

Another way to help is with a toy drive. Consider turning a holiday festivity into a “party with a purpose” by having new, unwrapped toys collected for the Salvation Army’s Christmas Warehouse. Or if there is a business with customers, the Salvation Army can provide flyers, posters, and a toy bin if needed. The staff can even collect the donations on site and will promote the toy drive on their website, through social media, and through their media partners to help make efforts a huge success.
