LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Little Mountain Boy Scout Troop 61, sponsored by the Ruritan Club, announces Carlton Chapman, Charlie Grooms and JJ Melvin have completed their Board of Review and have been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.


Their rank advancement was celebrated by family, friends and fellow Scouts at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held on Aug. 11 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.


Chapman is the son of Bart and Carlotta Chapman of Little Mountain and has been a member of Troop 61 since 2006. For his Eagle Scout service project, he provided the leadership for, planned and secured funds for the repainting of the Little Mountain Helipad.


Grooms is the son of Don and Pam Grooms of Prosperity and has been a member of Troop 61 since 2006. For his Eagle Scout service project, he provided the leadership for, planned and secured funds for the repainting of the concession stand at the Little Mountain Ballpark.


Melvin is the son of Dale and Sui Melvin of Little Mountain and has been a member of Troop 61 since 2008. For his Eagle Scout service project, he provided the leadership for, planned and secured funds for the repair of the bleachers and repainting of the dugouts at the Little Mountain Ballpark.
