Students at Prosperity-Rikard Elementary School got a special treat March 14 when Principal Timothy Lyden had to kiss three goats. At various times throughout the year, the PTO has a competition where students collect Box Tops. For this particular competition, the students used Box Top votes to determine who would kiss a farm animal – Lyden or Assistant Administrator April Peel – based on who received the least number of Box Tops. After a number of recounts requested by Lyden, it still ended up that he would be the one to kiss the goat. But not to be outdone, the PTO decided that one goat was not enough, so they brought in three goats and Lyden had to kiss all three as the students chanted “Kiss that goat! Kiss that goat!”

Alexandria Cromer, Miss Newberry College, was a special guest at the Prosperity-Rikard Elementary School goat-kissing event and she could not resist kissing the goat as well.
