NEWBERRY — Last week’s schedule of four games in five days looked to be a huge challenge for Chapin/Newberry as they faced the week with a limited roster.

After winning their Monday game 9-8 against Columbia-Northeast, they traveled to Lexington on June 10, and logged a win because of a forfeit. Lexington did not have enough players to field a team.

On June 11, C/N traveled to Orangeburg but the game was postponed because of rain.

The regularly scheduled June 13 game with Columbia Northeast was rescheduled to a double header to be played at Newberry College on June 21.

Chapin/Newberry leads League 8 with a 6-1 record followed by Lexington 5-4 and Orangeburg 5-4.

This week’s schedule of five games will put arms at a premium as C/N catches up after a week of rain-outs and forfeitures.

June 16: @ Orangeburg (Mirmow Field) 7:30 p.m.

June 17: @ Newberry College vs. West Columbia 7 p.m.

June 20: @ West Columbia (BC High School) 7 p.m.

June 21: @ Newberry College vs. Columbia-NE (doubleheader)
