Two were airlifted following a collision with an 18-wheeler at the intersection of New Franklin and Commerce Avenue.

According to police and witness reports, a Ford Edge was driving southbound on New Franklin turning left on Commerce when it collided with an 18-wheeler driving north bound on New Franklin.

The two passengers of the Edge, a female and a juvenile, sustained injuries and were airlifted to Columbus Medical Center. Officer Wesley Engle said the extent of the injuries are not known at this time. He reported that the juvenile was talking and alert, but the adult passenger was disoriented.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

Candice Andrews of LaGrange was driving the Edge and James Byers of North Carolina was driving the 18-wheeler.

According to Wesley, both drivers were passing through the intersection on a yellow light, so both will be cited.
