NEBWERRY — Thursday at 10:30 p.m. Newberry County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people after shots were fired into a residence off Dixie Road.
According to the incident report, one of the victims also reported nails dropped onto his driveway. He said two shots were fired at the residence. One shot hit the dwelling and went all the way through the house.
One of the victims told law enforcement he had been having problems with a Joseph Eusiebus Metts, 18, of 2925 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity. According to the incident report, the victim said Metts had told him several times that he was going to kill him.
Deputies located Metts and two other individuals at 2192 Blacksgate East. Who attempted to flee the scene in a white vehicle. Deputies later apprehended a fourth individual in the case. Rachel Lynn Swygert, 17,of 432 Sid Bickely Rd. Chapin was arrested as was Chelsie Leanna Walling, 18, of 4938 Jollystreet Road, Prosperity and Metts, who were passengers in the vehicle. According to the incident report Metts told the deputy that he, Walling, Timothy Daniel Corley, 18, of 4581 Counts Sausage Rd, Prosperity, and Swygert went to the victim’s house. Metts said Timothy Daniel Corley, 18, of 4581 Counts Sausage Rd, Prosperity surprised him by firing shots at the residence.
At that time, deputies searched for Corely and detained him at 2192 Blacksgate East. According to the incident report, Corley confessed to law enforcement that he fired a gun at the residence. According to the incident report, Walling, Metts, Corley and the seventeen-year-old were arrested and each was charged with the unlawful carrying of a pistol, discharging a firearm into a dwelling and public disorderly conduct. All four suspects were transported to the Newberry County Detention Center.
