Three men from Prosperity have been arrested for the home invasion and armed robbery on Fire Tower Road in Prosperity on Tuesday afternoon while one man from Newberry is still being sought.
Phillip Dominick, 25, of 988 Langford St.; Garian Jaleel Greenwood, 17, of 101 Stanza Hill Road and Markevis Daiman Kinard, 20, of 430 Lang Wise Road have all been arrested and charged with armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping according to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office is asking if anyone has any information about Sims to contact them at 321-2222.
The men, who were acquaintances with the victim, approached the victim at gunpoint in his yard and stole money from him. Then they forced him into the house where they sought more money and other items and fled the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
“There are so many people to thank for their hard work in this case,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “There were a number of citizens who provided information and for an absolutely tremendous effort from the investigators in this case. I would also like to commend the bloodhound team who tracked the suspects to where their vehicle was located which lead to critical information.”
“This crime absolutely shook a great community and we want to assure them that there are safe,” said Foster. “This was not a random act of violence, but rather a targeted crime based on the suspect’s relationship and knowledge of the victim. Members of the community may rest assured that they are well protected and safe in their homes.”
Foster said that the exact nature of the relationship between the suspects and victim was part of the ongoing investigation.
