NEWBERRY — Anytime Fitness, the 24-hour co-ed fitness club will soon be moving to the Newberry Plaza. Located at 1220 Wilson Road behind CVS, Anytime Fitness will allow its members to work out any time of the day or night, every day of the year.
Working with the town of Newberry, Anytime Fitness will develop a 5,000-square*foot exercise facility. With construction due to start immediately, the club will be open for business within the next 90 days.
Members will use a security-access key to enter the club, even when it is not staffed. Once inside, they will have full use of the strength training and cardiovascular equipment. Anytime Fitness also membership reciprocity among its clubs, which allows members to use any of the more than 2500 clubs that are currently open in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
When the club is not staffed, security and surveillance systems will be monitoring the safety of the club and its members.
The owners of Anytime Fitness, Grant Wells and Jessica Shealy, are enthusiastic about opening this new club in Newberry.
“The convenience and affordability of Anytime Fitness can’t be beat,” said Wells. “Choosing this club makes it easy for members to stay committed to their fitness goals.”
Shealy said the layout of each club is designed for quick and effective exercise, with equipment options including circuit and cross-training machines, free weights, stationary bicycles, and treadmills. Shealy said a tanning option can also be added to a membership.
Graduating from Newberry College in 2007, Shealy has a special connection to the Newberry area and said Newberry has always held a special place in her heart.
Anytime Fitness began pre-sales for membership during Oktoberfest. Beginning today, someone will be at the site’s new location from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for those interested in becoming members.
Membership information is also available at the club, by calling 803-276-0211, or online at www.anytimefitness.com. They club also has a Facebook page which posts updates about the construction process and opening dates.
“Anytime Fitness clubs are pared down to the essentials necessary for a great workout,” Shealy said. “Where we don’t cut corners is in our personal service and commitment to our members. We are excited to be in Newberry, and it’s our goal to become an active member of the community.”
