Dear Editor:

The members of the Newberry County Humane Society would like to remind all area residents that February is National Prevent-A-Litter Month. If you, or a neighbor, have a dog or cat that is not spayed or neutered, please take advantage of the Low Cost Spay/Neuter program offered for all Newberry County residents. Only $30 (plus $10 if not up-to-date on vaccinations), when you call the local Newberry County Animal Care & Control office (321-2185) and make an appointment. Spaying and neutering your animals not only prevents unwanted litters, but protects them from possible future cancers and injuries (if they run away during mating season). Be Kind To Your Pets and please Spay/Neuter.
