We want to express our most sincere appreciation to the people of Newberry for your kindness in our recent, unexpected visit to your city.

On Monday April 21, my wife and I were returning from an Easter visit with friends in Charleston and took I-26 to Greenville instead of our normal trip on I-20 going to metro Atlanta. It was a fortuitous trip as we had been discussing how much we loved and missed South Carolina. Near Newberry our vehicle started losing power and we were forced to pull off at the next exit.

At first I thought we lost a fan belt but discovered it was worse. We had no one at the exit who could help, so I called locally for a repair shop. The first person we called could not do a service call but suggested I call Carolina Truck Specialist. We are very thankful we did!

They took our distress call and responded professionally. David Nicholson quickly assessed the problem and transported us to their shop for repairs. We were graciously treated the entire time (3 to 4 hours) and were received as if we were long lost friends. Larry Nicholson offered to share his lunch with us or to have us served lunch as we waited. Those hours flew by.

David methodically made repairs that would be difficult for most shops. Never were we targeted for oversell of any sort. They identified the problem, explained it and repaired it. It was that simple.

Newberry is a gem and this visit reinforces all we had known about the city. With businesses and owners like Larry and David Nicholson, Newberry’s sterling reputation will continue spreading. People will travel to Newberry for the privilege to be serviced by Carolina Truck Specialist.

Thank you, Newberry, for being there for these weary travelers. We are very proud to share your namesake.
