NEWBERRY —Dakota Keith Murphy, 22, of Prosperity was identified as the victim of a late morning fatal traffic accident according ot Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton.
The accident took place at approximately 11:25 a.m. at 2861 Main St. in Newberry. Newton said Murphy was operating a motorcycle and for an unknown reason lost control of the vehicle and ran off of the right side of the roadway.
Murphy was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene from his injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The collision remains under investigation by the Newberry County Coroner’s Office, the Newberry City Police Department, and the S.C Highway Patrol.
