The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— Joseph Christopher Yarbrough, 43, of 11945 S.C. 121, Newberry, was charged July 7 with a S.C. Sex Offender Registry violation after he failed to register May 9. Yarbrough is required to register once every six months.

— Ann Marie Foster, 51, of 132 E. Sparrowood Run, Lexington, was charged July 6 with petit larceny after deputies received a complaint from Foster’s employer who said she entered the work place by getting a set of keys from security personnel, and while inside the canteen area, stole $920 in cash that was locked in a drawer. Deputies viewed the security footage from the canteen area and it showed Foster entering the kitchen and the room where the money was located. Foster could also be seen attempting to open a combination safe without success.

— Carley Alexis Shirey, 22, of 926 Lindsay Circle, Newberry, was charged July 2 with simple possession of marijuana and driving under suspension second offense after she was stopped during a safety checkpoint on S.C. 34, near General Henderson Road. Shirey told officers she did not have a license. A DMV check showed her license was suspended. A small plastic baggie containing marijuana was found in her bra when she was being searched at the Detention Center.

— Kenyatta Ishmiah Holloway, 38, of 328 Bouknight Ferry Road, Saluda, was charged July 5 with simple possession of marijuana and simple possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies stopped he was stopped for speeding. Deputies could smell marijuana and an information check showed Holloway was wanted by the City of Newberry. Deputies searched the vehicle and found marijuana beneath the driver’s side floor mat. A passenger advised that he and Holloway had been smoking marijuana, but that they smoked it all and that he was unaware of any other contraband in the car. Holloway said that he had forgotten about the found marijuana.

— Demarcus Valdez Robinson, 34, listed as homeless, was charged July 7 with disorderly conduct/misuse of 911 after he called 911 and said he wanted to go to jail and would do something to go to jail. Deputies arrived at his location and spoke to Robinson who said he was homeless and did not have anywhere to go.
