LITTLE MOUNTAIN — The Little Mountain Reunion kicks off tonight at 6:30 p.m. with food, music and carnival rides by Palmetto Amusement.
Tickets will be required for riding and can be bought there.
Music will get underway at 7 p.m. with The Keith Dominick Band. The beer wagon will begin selling at 6 p.m. and food vendors will be on hand. Outside alcohol is not permitted. The Reunion will end at 11 p.m. then open back up at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The parade will follow the Glenn Shealy Memorial Road Race at 10 a.m., with the roads probably being blocked off around 8:30 a.m., Mayor Jana Jayroe said.
Walt McLeod will act as the grand marshal to the parade, with Adriana Kear and Emily Mills acting as the junior marshals. Kear and Mills were the designers of the T-shirts that will be on sale.
The parade will have around 61 entries, some of which include politicians running for county and state offices, rescue vehicles, local businesses and churches.
After the parade, Stage 1 will be occupied by local speakers, followed by a variety of bands on both stages. Bands will include Twang Bombers, The Berries, Sly Dog and Band of Oz.
A variety of vendors will be located both outside and inside the Little Mountain Elementary School Cafeteria.
The beer wagon will begin selling at 5 p.m. Saturday, no earlier. Coolers and golf carts will not be permitted inside the park. Jayroe also recommended leaving dogs at home, unless they are a service dog, due to some children being scared by larger dogs last year.
