Pruitt named president of Spartanburg Lions Club
SPARTANBURG — Leah Longshore Pruitt, a graduate of Newberry High School, has been named 2016-17 president of the Spartanburg Lions Club.
As president, Pruitt will oversee the weekly club meetings, monthly board meetings, assist with fundraisers, community volunteering and engagement. She has been a member of Lions since 2013 and will be the club’s third female president in its 94-year history.
“The Spartanburg Lions club has strong roots and a rich history in our community, and I am honored to serve in this capacity,” Pruitt said. “The Lions Club motto is ‘We Serve,’ and I firmly believe that service is the key to success. Serving others was always very important to my parents, and I want to raise my daughter the same way. Spartanburg Lions Club gives me that opportunity to make a difference in my community.”
Pruitt also is a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, University of South Carolina Upstate and Converse College (MLA) and is employed at Spartanburg Methodist College as the Alumni Director.
