COLUMBIA — PalmettoPride announces its Community Pride Grant recipients for the 2017-2018 grant cycle. The PalmettoPride Grants program provides funding for litter eradication programs in five categories.
The PalmettoPride Education Grants provides funds for schools and school districts to implement litter pickup programs, recycling programs, green reading programs and Carolina Fence Gardens. Nine schools schools received $38,815 in grant funds. Newberry County Career Center received $5,000.
The PalmettoPride Tree Grant provides free trees for beautification programs on public spaces. This year, PalmettoPride awarded 863 trees to 17 recipients. Keep Newberry County Beautiful received 127 trees.
