NEWBERRY — If you or someone you know is needing a new hairstyle, Indigo Hair Lounge, 1112 Main St., opened its doors to the community on July 5.
Newberry resident and owner Amanda Lindler has 13 years of experience and is fulfilling a dream bringing her own salon to the area.
“I just wanted wanted to do my own thing and I love the location here downtown. It’s always been my dream to have a salon down here,” said Lindler.
At Indigo Hair Lounge, Lindler said she likes to give clients trendy, up-to-date styles, along with providing trend cuts, colors and balayage.
Indigo Hair Lounge can be reached at 803-944-7462 to schedule a consultation or appointment.
“It’s pretty much price per service, not super high end by any means, but it really just depends on the style and the amount of hair and everything. It varies from person to person,” said Lindler. “I usually mark out around three to four hours just because a lot of my people have long hair. I would rather have more time to work than not enough so I don’t have to rush between clients.”
Lindler is also available for prom season hair appointments as well as weddings, saying she usually stays booked out six months to a year for weddings, which takes up most of her Saturday business.
Although Indigo Hair Lounge has only been open for a short time, Lindler said she has already seen tremendous amount of support from the community.
“It’s been great. We’ve received an outpouring of support. I’ve received tons of new clients so far, everybody’s just been really supportive and fabulous,” said Lindler. “My husband, mom and dad have been absolutely the best. I could not do it without them, that’s for sure.”
Indigo Hair Lounge is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Weekend and evening hours may vary. Indigo Hair Lounge is an appointment only salon.
“I’m really big on consultations. I feel like I give a really thorough consultation before starting any service. I definitely aim to please. I’m not someone that wants to just get someone in and out. I really take my time with each client,” said Lindler.
