Caroll and Kathie Leitzsey and their children Chad, Audrey and Charlene donated land that the Pomaria Fire Department built its new substation on in memory of their father and grandfather, Ray Leitzsey. Leitzsey, who was known as “Cricket,” passed away suddenly in 1981, and since then, a number of family members have gone on to serve the Pomaria Fire Department, leaving a legacy that will continue to live on. The Ray Leitzsey Station was dedicated May 7.
