NEWBERRY — It’s a full season of shows at the Newberry Opera House – headlined by such diverse performers as Josh Turner, Charlie Daniels, The Ghost Hunters , Kansas, Billy Bob Thornton, A Thousand Horses, Lisa Loeb, Arlo Guthrie, Robert Osborne and more.

The Oak Ridge Boys, The Lettermen, Don Williams, The Bellamy Brothers, Delbert McClinton, and Steve Tyrell and The Three Irish Tenors with their Christmas in Ireland show are all scheduled to return.

The Opera House will rock with the band Kansas, performing all their biggest hits including “Dust in the Wind” and “Carry On Wayward Son.”

Continuing in the Rock Series, The Boxmasters, featuring Billy Bob “Bud” Thornton, Teddy Andreadis, J.D. Andrew and Brad Davis, is an American roots-rock band of seasoned musicians whose sound is rich in rhythm and story.

Formed in 2007, the band released the self-titled debut record “The Boxmasters” to critical acclaim. This two-CD set was comprised of original songs – including the Americana Radio hit “The Poor House” – and eclectic covers of tunes by The Beatles, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Mott The Hoople and Mel Tillis.

Also in the series are the 70’s Bands Ambrosia and Orleans. Their hits include “Biggest Part of Me,” “You’re the Only Woman,” “How Much I Feel.” The band Orleans boasts many hits including the bona-fide classics: “Still the One”, “Dance With Me” and “Love Takes Time.” Orleans is now celebrating their 40th year of creating musical history.

The iconic Blood, Sweat and Tears, led by American Idol alum Bo Brice, and much of the original band rock out with “You Made Me So Very Happy,” “Spinning Wheel” and “And When I Die,” and many more of the great BS&T classics.

Legendary pianist Abbey Simon headlines a piano series featuring Caroline Stoessinger, performing her “Moonlight Sonata” program and Pawel Checinski “The pianist’s, pianist.”

The world renowned Jerusalem Symphony will perform under the baton on Dimitri Jablonsky in March. Robert Osborne, the host of Turner Classics and The Essentials, will come to Newberry to discuss some of his favorite great cinema classics and to show film clips.

The Krasnoyarsk National Dance Company of Siberia returns with their company. They join a Creole Carnival, Irish Dancers and The Moscow Festival Ballet performing Carmen in an eclectic dance series.

The Beach, Rhythm and Blues Series rules, with Charlie Thomas’ Drifters, The Vogues, The Embers, with a very special Christmas program, the ever popular Hit Men and the incredible Stylistics.

Del McCroury returns headlining the Blue Grass Series which including the Hot new Balsam Range winner of IBMA Entertainers of the year, Dailey and Vincent and Mountain Heart.
