NEWBERRY — Camp Conservation had a total of about 40 kids for this year’s camp, according to Danielle Rowe, district coordinator for Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District. The camp was held July 20-24.
The camp gets children outdoors and gets them excited about conservation efforts. Campers participated in animal tracking were educated on land, timber and wildlife management.
The Newberry County Sheriff’s Department held a bike rodeo and gave a presentation with bloodhounds on their tracking skills.
Hy-Hope Farms and Satterwhite Dairy also partnered with NSWCD to host farm tours during the week. Cold-Blooded Encounters of Troutman, N.C., hosted a live reptile show during the week.
