NEWBERRY — The 39 Golden Agers of Colony Evangelical Lutheran Church were honored at the Homecoming Service on July 31. The Rev. Jerry L Trantham presided and the Rev. Floyd Sides delivered the homecoming sermon.

Unable to attend the service were Lewis Black, Lee Donald “Don” Chappell, Patsy Chappell, Bettye H. Fulmer, Alvin Jackson, Tresey Longshore, Claudette Lester, Frances Long, Houston Wilson, “Billy” Long, Joe E. Morris, Maxie C. Morris, Sadie Morris, Carolyn Nichols, Allen Nichols, Jerry Nichols, Patsy Nichols, Ralph Sligh, Dot Stucke, Robert Mills “Bobby” Summer.

The Golden Agers who have passed away since the 2015 homecoming service were remembered. They were Lola Cockrell Lowe, Carolyn C. Shealy and Marie Sligh.
