NEWBERRY — Members of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Newberry County Chamber of Commerce are already preparing for a successful 2017 legislative session to continue the mission to improve South Carolina’s business climate and global competitiveness.

The two groups will hold a Grassroots Discussion from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Oct. 25 at Community Hall, 1209 Caldwell St. in downtown Newberry.

The Grassroots Meeting is one of the first steps in creating the Competitiveness Agenda, the business community’s annual list of legislative priorities compiled by the SC Chamber. It will begin with a legislative review from the South Carolina Chamber’s Public Policy staff before moving into an open discussion of legislative issues that you believe must be addressed.

Participants bring compelling issues to the meetings, which helps the Chamber create its Competitiveness Agenda. Once issues are defined and strategies are developed, the Chamber works with legislative officials to create an environment that will improve the business climate in South Carolina.

Breakfast will be served and there will be a $10 charge. Reservations are required for planning purposes. Call 803-276-4274 or send an email to liz@newberrycounty.org to RSVP.
