DSS thanks community for support

January 29, 2014

Newberry County is blessed with churches, individuals, organizations, businesses, clubs, bible study groups, and others who took their time and hard work to provide for the children of Newberry County to ensure that Christmas was a celebrated day. We even had some, who at the last minute decided they wanted to help and it was so important and needed.

With that said, the Newberry County Department of Social Services would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your support. Your donations enabled us to provide 106 children with fabulous Christmas morning excitement. Thank you! This year was especially exciting as in addition to the children, some donors also provided for adults in need.

Because of your overwhelming support we brought some light into the children’s lives by providing these children with special moments and encouraged them that this season is a reason for hope and reassurance reminding them that they are loved and thoughtfully cared for, not forgotten. Your gifts and donations of food and household necessities made a difference.

This year you opened your hands and hearts to share with children and families you have never met and you gave in response to love our neighbors as ourselves. On behalf of those who will never have a way to thank you in person, we want to take this moment to say thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your witness — and your response — to God’s love.
