Seek ways to please Jesus

In the beginning of a New Year, we should ask ourselves just what that means to us.

Are we completely satisfied with our life or do we need to change some things?

I learned a long time ago there is always room for improvement in my life. I want to be closer to the Lord and do more for Him in the coming year. I want to be a blessing to others so they can see Jesus high and lifted up.

Even though we strive to be better at the things that are important to us, we still face things that hinder us. When we are hindered that shouldn’t stop us. Sometimes we have to put forth extra effort. Then we appreciate what’s been done.

I often think of the effort Jesus put forth for us. He left the riches of heaven and came to earth to redeem us. He did something for us we couldn’t do for ourselves.

As we start this New Year let’s follow Christ and seek ways to please Him.

Following Christ should not be a hardship.

We should serve the Lord with gladness.
