Send a care package to a soldier overseas

NEWBERRY — The South Carolina National Guard 751st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion from Newberry is in Kuwait and doing well, its officers report.

The 751st was mobilized in October and is scheduled to be in the Middle East through summer 2014.

If Newberry community members would like to correspond with the Newberry unit, it would be most welcome. A 751st officer said: “We truly don’t need anything. However, letters of encouragement, Christmas cheer, solid air freshener, and coffee cups, specifically morning blend coffee K-cups, are in high demand.”

Correspondence and packages can be sent to the commanding officer. The entire unit will share the care package and be able to read the letters or cards.
