Wolves ranked 24th in poll

NEWBERRY — The Newberry Wolves find themselves in the top 25 of both national polls to end the regular season, as the scarlet and gray are ranked 24th in the final regular season version of the poll, released Tuesday.

Newberry finished the season ranked fifth in Super Region II with a 9-2 overall record and tied for second in the South Atlantic Conference with a 5-2 record in the league. The Wolves play fourth-seeded Carson-Newman in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs at noon Saturday in Jefferson City, Tenn.

Newberry is also ranked 25th in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Poll.
