M-C Middle ends volleyball season with 11-5 record

NEWBERRY — Mid-Carolina Middle School and Newberry Middle School took on Edgewood Middle for a tri-match volleyball game Oct. 15 at Newberry.

In the first match, Mid-Carolina took on Edgewood with Edgewood walking away as the winning team of the first match. Edgewood beat Mid-Carolina, 25-13 and 25-17 for both games.

In the second match, Mid-Carolina edged out Newberry as the winner. In the first game, Mid-Carolina won 25-20. In the second game, Newberry beat Mid-Carolina 26-24 and in the third game, Mid-Carolina won 15-6.

For Mid-Carolina, Emma Fellers served three points with one ace and one kill. Courtnie Stafford served a total of five points overall.

Cassi Ruff served three total points overall and Jessica Mills served up three total points with one kill. Georgia Summer served a total of three points overall while Megan Grubbs served a total of five points overall. Madison Hyman served a total of 15 points overall with seven aces.

Mid-Carolina Middle’s record for the season is 11-5 regular season and 2-0 pre season.
