BEAVERTON, Ore. — A year after being named an All-America Honorable Mention by the Women’s Division II Bulletin, Newberry junior Haylee Lepaio has been named preseason All-America by the publication.

Lepaio earned a spot in the publications “Super 16,” which includes the top players from across the country heading into the 2013-14 season. Lepaio led the South Atlantic Conference in scoring last season and finished second in the SAC in rebounding.

Lepaio recorded double-digit points in 25 games and posted ten double-doubles.

As a sophomore, Lepaio earned SAC Player of the Week three times and was named All-SAC First Team. A DAKTRONICS First Team All-Southeast Region selection in 2012-13, Lepaio also was named an All-America Honorable Mention by both the Women’s Division II Bulletin and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Lepaio and the Wolves open the 2013-14 season with an exhibition trip to High Point before traveling to Morris for the regular season opener on Nov. 12.
