The land on S.C. 219 that housed the old sheriff’s office building is now vacant following demolition of the 11,000-square-foot building. County Administrator Wayne Adams said the county is holding the property as a real estate asset. The bricks and steel from the building were saved because the demolition company found other uses for it. The county’s cost to tear down the building was $14,000. The building was originally build in 2001 but was later abandoned after mold concerns.
