Advisory: Missing/endangered person: Curtis Williams, Jr. has been located

NEWBERRY COUNTY —At 8 p.m. on Friday possible missing person Curtis Williams, Jr. was reconnected with his family, according to Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.Williams contacted family members and representatives of the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and advised them that he was both “safe and sound.”Upon request, Williams travelled to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office where he met with law enforcement officials and family members in an effort to confirm that he, in fact, was in satisfactory condition.After a series of questions and speaking with family members, Williams expressed himself clearly and concisely to demonstrate that he was okay.

 

Shealy’s new mission: promote recruitment, retention

NEWBERRY — The Newberry Fire Department responded to three calls on July 8.Fire Chief Keith Minick said the first call was a 6:38 a.m. report of smoke coming from a home on Clarkson Avenue.Minick said the fire department made entry into the home and found a dryer on fire.
